Chris Brown Releases First Official Statement
Chris Brown finally released an official statement about allegations he beat Rihanna down to the “white meat”:
“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writing under my name are frauds.”
We can’t think of any scenario where giving Rihanna a beat down would be justified. Black women are abused more than any other group in America and it seems there is a sympathy for domestic violence against sisters, even by some Black women. It seems for some, it’s ok to hit Black women in some instances.
This is a call for change, it is never ok to beat down a woman, ok, maybe if your life is in danger and the woman looks like King Latifah. But seriously, this sympathy for Chris Brown is beginning to sicken us.
